NONGPOH: Peeved with the adamant attitude of the State Government and the department of the District Selection Committee in allotment of job to the qualified DSC passed candidates in Ri Bhoi District, the Ri Bhoi District District Selection Committee Passed Candidate Association (RBDSCPCA) on Wednesday took the decision to move the matter with the state higher ups and if the State government failed to take any initiative the Association will resort to drastic action.
It may mentioned here, that the Ri Bhoi DSC had called for written test and the interview for different posts in the district which includes LDA, Peon, Chowkidar and Helper on the year 2010 on which around 121 candidate got through the examination and interview in merit list, but after that, only 76 candidates got their placement in different departments in the district whereas the rest 45 where neglected on the part of the government to appoint them in any department since 2010.
RBDSCPCA president B Sweetly informing this scribe said, “The Association had just got the information that the State government and the DSC will not extent the allotment of job vacancy to these 45 candidates saying that there are no more vacant post in any department in the district, but when the Association had moved through the RTI Act 2005 they found that many posts were lying in different departments in the district but the State government nor the DSC department are taking the initiative to allot the post to these deserving candidates”.
“The RBDSCPCA on June 1 met the Ri Bhoi District Deputy Commissioner Akash Deep Singh to seek information on the different vacant post in many department where Deep replied that the State government will not be able to do the job placement for the 45 candidates as the extension had been stopped soon after the Supreme Court Order which says that candidates who passed out from DSC or MPSC examination last 2 or 3 year back will not be allotted with job placement, this statement of the DC disappointed the Association”, Sweetly said.
However, the RBDSCPCA will now move the matter and will soon meet the State Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma to seek his intervention on the matter and if the State government keeps on being adamant to the pleas of the RBDSCPCA, the Association will be compelled to take drastic actions and agitational programmes would be organised within the District, Sweetly added.
The RBDSCPCA has also extended their gratitude towards NGOs including the KSU, North Khasi Hills District Unit, RBYF, Central Body and the CSWO (Agnes) for their keen initiative to help the association in fighting for their right in allotment of different job vacancies in different department for the deserving candidates.
