SHILLONG: The new Home Secretary Anil Goswami visited the head quarter of Assam Rifles at Laitkor on Tuesday where he was briefed by Director General Assam Rifles, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh on the security situation in the Northeast with particular reference to management of Indo-Myanmar border.
The Assam Rifles chief apprised the Home Secretary about the civic action programme being undertaken by Assam Rifles in Northeast and also promotion of literacy and help in the far flung areas.
The, Home Secretary also laid a wreath at the Assam Rifles War Memorial at a function held at Laitkor Garrison and paid homage to the martyrs who made sacrifice while serving the nation.
