SHILLONG, Nov 12: A fake certificate and degree racket was busted by the police in Uttarakhand as two of its members were arrested, who are residents of Dehradhun.
As per media report, their organised crime was spread across the country with one Navdeep Bhatia being the kingpin of the gang.
However, they had two other accomplices from William Carey University in Meghalaya — Vijay Agarwal and Jitendra Sharma.
When contacted, an official of the department of the admissions of the University said that they are unaware of the two individuals.
The official said a complaint has already been filed with the concerned authorities in this regard.
As per the media report, police have also confiscated over 7,000 blank and ready to be used degree certificates of various courses allegedly issued in the name of five different universities.
