SHILLONG, Dec 15: South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai has extended financial assistance of Rs 10.50 lakh to local committees during a pre-Christmas celebration here.
According to a statement, the monetary assistance has been sanctioned under SUWP scheme 2022-23.
The beneficiaries were church committees, Dorbar Shnong committees, village council committee and Greater Laban Taxi Drivers’ Association.
“The MLA has also appealed to all the beneficiaries to involve children, who come from underprivileged sections, and celebrate Christmas in a befitting manner,” a statement in this regard said.
The programme ended with a prayer service by Rev. Pastor TR Marak.
