SHILLONG, Dec 15: The state government is making attempts to complete the construction of the Tura Medical College while a request for proposal (RFP) has been floated for the proposed Shillong Medical College & Hospital (SMCH).
Stating that the Tura Medical College project has already been sanctioned and construction is under way, Health Minister James PK Sangma said, “There were difficulties in terms of road access since an under-construction bridge was acting as an impediment to the transportation of materials. It has now been resolved and we are looking to expedite the construction.”
On the SMCH, Sangma said, “We are in the process of floating an RFP and it is in its final stages. We will soon identify a suitable party for the project.”
