Shillong, Jan 12: Acting on a tip-off, a joint operation was conducted by Ratacherra Check Post and Umkiang PPP of Meghalaya Police under the supervision of Additional SP, East Jaintia Hills (EJH), B. Jyrwa, four drug peddlers were apprehended and around 1.2 kg of contraband Yaba tablets (amphetamine) recovered from their possession.
One white Maruti Alto (ML11 3832) and four mobile phones were also seized from their possession.
The names of the arrested persons are: Sajul Islam, Jabir Hussain Barbhuiya, Abdul Mohit Barbhuiya, Ratikul Islam Barbhuiya. A case is being registered.
