NEHU VC discusses university matters with Union Edn minister

SHILLONG, Jan 19: NEHU Vice-Chancellor Prof Prabha Shankar Shukla on Thursday met Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, to discuss issues relating to finances, academics and development of the university.
The VC apprised the Union minister about the developmental work which took place in NEHU in the last one year which includes the setting up of various centres like Design Innovation Centre, Office of the International Affairs, the IPR centre, MOOCs centre and the Research Cell among others.
He also informed the minister about the recruitment process of the teaching posts which will be completed in three to four months followed by the recruitment process of the non-teaching staff.
In an effort to expedite the developmental work in NEHU, the VC discussed the budget requirement of the University with the minister which was positively responded by the minister.
