Tura, Feb 4: For the past two days, Baghmara has seen unprecedented crowds gathering as part of the nomination filings of almost all candidates. The crowd sizes were such that if it really translated into votes, everyone could have won, instantly.

However, after filing his nomination for  Baghmara constituency, AITC candidate, Saljagringgrang Marak claimed that the crowds had gathered due to money that was provided to them.

“I have filed my nomination today along with my colleagues and supporters and we are sure that we will win the upcoming election. Unfortunately I didn’t have the money to bring in huge crowds so all those  came with me today were my genuine supporters who would work with me through thick and thin,” stated Marak during a press interaction after his nomination.

Marak filed his nomination along with the AITC Chokpot candidate, Lazarus Sangma and Rongara – Siju candidate, Dr Rajesh Marak. All three filed their nomination in the district headquarter today followed by a huge crowd of supporters.

“We have seen the others in Baghmara come with a huge crowd of supporters but for me the support has not lessened. They have come with their own money as I could not afford to pay for their travel. My people came because they love me and support me and this will not change. This time SGH will change and so will Baghmara,” added Saljagringgrang.
