No withdrawal of nominations

SHILLONG, Feb 10: With none of the candidates withdrawing their nomination till Friday, the February 27 elections in the state will witness a hot contest among 375 candidates, including 36 women, for the 60 seats in the Legislative Assembly.
Chief Electoral Officer FR Kharkongor on Friday said no seat would be uncontested as there was no withdrawal of candidature.
As many as 379 candidates had filed their nominations seeking to contest the elections out of whom four papers were rejected as they were deemed to be dummy candidates.
