Garo Hills Taekwondo Championships concludes

 TURA: The Garo Hills Taekwondo Championships organised by the Tura Taekwondo Association in collaboration with the West Garo Hills District Sports Officer concluded at Tura Indoor Stadium on Saturday. The championship which began on July 19 aimed at promoting the discipline and give talented youth a platform to excel in Taekwondo through such competitions. The championship saw participation from Taekwondo enthusiasts from across Garo Hills. Though the competition was stiff Sunil A Sangma and Kivilkali Zhisimo emerged as the best fighters of the championship in the Boys and Girls category respectively. Winners in different weight classes from both the boys and girls were given certificates at the valedictory function held at the Tura Indoor Stadium on saturday. Congratulating the winners West Garo Hills Additional Deputy Commissioner Ambrose Ch Marak commended the organisers for holding the competition despite shortage of funds. Assuring that the District Administration would lend its support next time such a competition was organised Marak said that he would ensure financial assistance to the TTA.
