In a shocking incident, the Dorbar had forced one Noping Khongsit to eat human excreta after the latter was accused of practicing witchcraft.

Wahlang has also sought a report on the matter from W Biam, Additional District Magistrate.

When contacted, East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang said that police would investigate the incident before making any arrests.

It may be mentioned that the family members of Khongsit were also penalised by the village Dorbar after four girls from the village claimed that they were suffering from some unusual disease as a result of the witchcraft practiced by the former.

Based on the allegations, the village Dorbar, in a meeting held on July 20, forced Khongsit to eat human excreta.
