Conrad calls on President, Union Finance Minister

SHILLONG/NEW DELHI, March 11: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma called on President Droupadi Murmu and Union Finance Minister Sitharaman in New Delhi on Saturday.
It was only a courtly meeting, official sources said.
Conrad who was accompanied by one of his deputies Prestone Tynsong took to Twitter to share pictures taken with the President as well as the Union Finance Minister.
“As MDA 2.0 resumes office for the 2nd term, we look forward to her continued guidance and the Ministry’s support to further development in Meghalaya,” he wrote in a tweet.
The Chief Minister, who was holding the Finance portfolio earlier, is continuing with the same in his second term. He is also heading the GST Council, a joint forum of both the Centre and the states.
