Shillong, April 17: SpaceX is scheduled to launch the Starship Super Heavy for the first time. The most potent rocket the world has ever seen will take off on its first orbital flight beyond the limits of the planet.

With the ambitious goal of transporting people to the moon and Mars, the Starship Super Heavy is the largest and most powerful rocket ever constructed. There won’t be any astronauts on board to pilot the automated orbital launch or the return to land at a different location.

The Federal Aviation Administration gave the go-ahead to billionaire Elon Musk’s business on Friday. The two components of the Starship will be launched together for the first time. A few years ago, early iterations of the futuristic-looking upper stage flew many miles into space, crashed four times, and then landed upright in 2021.

On Monday, the Starship Super Heavy is scheduled to take off between 7:00 and 8:00 pm. SpaceX won’t try to land the rocket or the spaceship for this demonstration. The sea will eventually catch everything.

“I can promise excitement, but I can’t promise it will reach orbit. It won’t be monotonous”. At a Morgan Stanley conference last month, Musk declared, “I think it’s got, I don’t know, hopefully around a 50% chance of reaching orbit”.

The stainless steel Starship has 33 primary engines with a thrust capacity of 16.7 million pounds. During a launch pad test in January, all but two of the methane-fueled first-stage engines ignited, which, according to Musk, was sufficient to enter orbit.

Additionally, SpaceX is streaming the launch and the flight live.

On a mission to Mars, Starship Super Heavy could carry 100 passengers and lift up to 250 tonnes. The spacecraft’s six engines are responsible for 50 metres (164 feet) of its height.

The Starship Super Heavy is a fully reusable rocket ship that was created on the same basis as the Falcon-9 rockets with the goal of enabling humans to colonise other planets.
