Miscreants apprehended

 SHILLONG: The Rangbah Dong and villagers of Mawiong on Saturday night apprehended seven miscreants including a minor and handed them over to the police.

East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang informed that the group of miscreants had robbed cash Rs 700, mobile handset and one car tape from a vehicle (ML 05E 2185) when Elevenson Kahrkongor and Rangdamut Khalmalki were returning from Thangshalai village after dropping their friends wife who was ill.

However, one truck (As 01 DC 1965) blocked them and robbed them after which they immediately informed Rongbah Dong of Mawiong and villagers apprehended seven persons.

The driver of the truck identified as Hamles Kurbah Nongkhliew managed to escape.

The arrested persons have been identified as Raymond Warjri (20), Hedingson Kurbah (21), Lamphrang Pakyntein (19) Samkisoh Shabong (18) Lamdingstar Kharkrang (18), Klossing Rani (20) and a 16 year old minor.

All the arrested persons have been remanded four days police custody.
