Shillong, April 17: Contrary to expectations, Ram Charan and Jr. NTR did not appear to perform live to Naatu Naatu from their movie RRR at the 95th Academy Awards last month.

Naatu Naatu was played at the Oscars because, according to an earlier report, the actors “didn’t feel comfortable performing” it; instead, a dance troupe did so. Ram Charan said that he was awaiting a call for the same and “was ready” when questioned about why he did not dance to Naatu Naatu at the Oscars.

Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava performed live renditions of Naatu Naatu during the Oscars event in March. The concert had been introduced by actor Deepika Padukone. Ram would not provide further information, although he did admit that he had hoped to play Naatu Naatu at the Oscars but had been denied the opportunity.

“I was completely prepared to receive that call, but I have no idea what transpired. However, let’s avoid discussing it because the company that performed it there was excellent and did a greater job than we did. I’ve done it a ton of times, in a variety of settings, including interviews and awards ceremonies. Therefore, it is now up to us to unwind, enjoy the performance, and watch someone else shine for India” Ram Charan said in an interview.

Ram Charan and Jr. NTR ‘didn’t feel comfortable playing’ Naatu Naatu live at the celebrity-studded event, according to one of the Oscars awards ceremony organisers who claimed this in an interview after the event.

The first song from an Indian production to win an Oscar was RRR’s Naatu Naatu. RRR by SS Rajamouli is a fictional tale set in the pre-independence era of the 1920s that is based on the lives of two notable revolutionaries and true heroes, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem.
