Odd-even system
In a bid to ease traffic congestion and to better manage traffic at areas of Police Bazar and Motphran, all SPTS buses, whose registration numbers end with the odd digit such as 1,3,5,7 and 9, have been directed to ply only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. According to a statement here, the SPTS buses whose registration numbers end with even digits such as 0,2,4,6,8, have been directed to ply only on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday towards Police Bazar and Motphran areas. “The above restriction will not be applicable on Sundays,” the statement said.

Donation
The 172 Bn of BSF Meghalaya on Wednesday organised a civic action programme at Dona Bhoi village at the Indo-Bangladesh border of East Jaintia Hills. During the programme, IG BSF Meghalaya Pradip Kumar donated computers to school students for their academic uplift in presence of the villagers.

Dak Adalat
A divisional-level Dak Adalat will be held at the office of the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Meghalaya Division, on June 2 from 11.30 am. According to a statement here, the Dak Adalat will entertain grievances pertaining to postal services for its redressal. “Written complaints should be sent so as to reach this office on or before June 1. Complaints, if any received after this period, will be redressed through the usual channel,” the statement said.

Quiz
As part of the All-India Quiz on Financial Literacy, 2023, for school students, the Reserve Bank of India, Shillong, will organise a block-level quiz for Mawphlang, Pynursla, Mawlai, Mylliem, Mawryngkneng, Mawsynram and Shella Bhollaganj at 11:30 am on Friday at the Conference Room of RBI, 3rd Floor, Office of the General Manager, Telecom Department, BSNL Bhawan, Shillong. According to a statement here, the teams participating in the quiz will comprise two students each representing different government schools of the respective blocks.

Nomination
The state BJP president has nominated Wankitok Pohshna as state president of Yuva Morcha of BJP. He has also nominated Hardeep Ryntathiang as the district president of Shillong city.

Deadline
The KSU, Laskein circle, has sought clarification from the SBI and Meghalaya Rural Bank, located at Raliang and Mowkaiaw respectively, over the absence of branch managers. The clarification was sought after complaints and grievances were raised by the beneficiaries of the two banks, who have claimed that there are no permanent branch managers. Further, the KSU has given a deadline to the banks to solve the problem within a month.
