Seizure
Acting on a tip-off, the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), East Jaintia Hills, along with officers and staff of Lumshnong Police Station, on Saturday intercepted one Shorif Uddin, who was proceeding from Kalain to Khliehriat, near Lumshnong Police Station. A check was immediately conducted during which 63.12 grams of suspected heroin was recovered and subsequently seized. In this regard, the accused has been arrested and a case against him has also been registered.

A tribute programme to commemorate the 96th anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s first visit to Shillong will be held at Netaji Pathagar, Rilbong. Netaji had made his maiden visit to Shillong on June 12, 1927, to convalesce from an illness.
