Bengaluru: Passenger killed, brother injured in fare dispute with autorickshaw driver

Shillong, June 14: In a tragic incident in Bengaluru, a passenger lost his life, and his brother sustained injuries after an autorickshaw driver allegedly stabbed them following a dispute over fare. The deceased has been identified as Ahmed, while his injured brother is named Ayub, aged 26.

The unfortunate incident unfolded when both passengers boarded an autorickshaw from Majestic to Yeshwantpur railway station. Upon reaching their destination, the auto driver demanded additional fare, sparking a quarrel between the driver and the passengers. The altercation escalated, and the auto driver physically assaulted the passengers, ultimately resorting to stabbing them.

Tragically, Ahmed succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital, while Ayub remains in the intensive care unit (ICU) with severe wounds.

Authorities have arrested the auto driver in connection with the incident. During the investigation, the police discovered that the accused had other pending cases against him in Hassan district, further highlighting his criminal history.
