Threat

On August 21, two persons, Sailen Sangma and Demon Manner stole a cell phone belonging to one Amos Buam at Ratacherra village (EJH) and also threatened the VDP Members of the village with dire consequences.

Assault

On August 21 at around 5.30 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted one Malbin Majaw (15) at 101 Area, Upper Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was moved to CH, Shillong.

lOne Renit Momin lodged a complaint at Songsak PS that on August 18 at around 8 pm, six unidentified miscreants armed with lethal weapons entered his house at Chidimit Nangapa (EGH), assaulted his father, Subha Chettri and looted Rs. 15,000.

Molestation

One Ibanylla Snaitang lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that in June 2013, her husband, Robi Thangkhiew assaulted her and also molested her minor daughter (11) at Mawprem, Shillong.

Attempted murder

On August 18 at around 11.20 pm, one Tyngshainstar Khongjee slit the neck of one woman, Edalin Khonglam with a dao at Urksew Pyursla (EKH). Police arrested the accused.

Theft

On August 13 morning, one Md. Nazul Hussain, driver of truck (AS-01DD-7794) stole Rs. 1,50,000 from the possession of one Md. Giogas Uddin Talukdar at Mynkre village (EJH).

Fraud

One Donald Dean Sohtun lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on August 6, M/s Krishna Finance Company cheated him of Rs. 18,500.

Clarification

Apropos to the news item which appeared in the daily on August 22 under the heading ‘Meghalaya Crime Update- Body found’, Subarson Rangslang (40) was wrongly mentioned as the victim found lying unconscious at Garikhana with head injuries on August 20. Rangslang was in fact the informant of the incident and not the victim.

Boy found

One Nirmal Ramchari (18), son of Chandro Kato Ramchari and Depali Ramchari, address still unknown was found from Mawlai Mawroh on August 21. Anybody who knows him or has any information about his parents, contact CHILDLINE in 1098/9863036322.
