 SHILLONG: As a part of the regular activity and also to create awareness for the students for self employment facilities, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, in collaboration with the Economics and Philosophy Departments of Sankardev College on Thursday organized a one day programme on Mushroom Cultivation at Kyrdemkhla, Laitkroh Elaka, about 27 Kms from Shillong.

On this day, about 60 student volunteers from the college and the members of the Self Help Groups from Kyrdemkhla, including the teaching staff and NSS Programme Officer of the college, attended and took part in the cultivation of Oister mushroom in the mushroom shed. This formed a part of the training for mushroom cultivation for the students and local people which can take up this job to earn a living.
