SHILLONG: President Pranab Mukherjee will address Meghalaya legislators in the State Assembly on October 21, an official source said on Monday.
This will be the maiden visit of Mukherjee to Meghalaya after he became the President of India.
The last visit of Mukherjee to Shillong was in June, 2006 during the political crisis which led to JD Rymbai becoming the Chief Minister replacing Congress leader DD Lapang. That time he visited the city as an AICC observer. During his one-day visit to Shillong, there is no other official engagement except his address in the Assembly, the source added.
