Peace talks: HNLC confident of positive outcome by year-end

SHILLONG, July 17: The proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council is optimistic that the ongoing peace talks between the Centre, state government and the outfit would result in a positive outcome by the end of this year.
HNLC interlocutor and HNYF president, Sadon Blah said a significant phase of the negotiations is expected to be completed this year.
He said the three parties have held around 6-7 rounds of official and unofficial talks and while some challenges have cropped up in the form of technicalities issues which is being resolved.
Reacting to a query about the outfit’s demand for amnesty, Blah said the central and state governments were working on the demand.
