NONGSTOIN, July 19: The Court of Special Judge (POCSO), Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills, on Tuesday convicted Shaiborlang Nongsiej and Judonlang Kharbani for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl and sentenced them to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment with fine of Rs 30,000.
An FIR was filed with Nongstoin Police by the girl’s father stating that his 17-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted by the duo.
A case was taken up and investigated by WPSI L Siangshai of Nongstoin Women Police Station.
