SHILLONG, July 28: Days after some miscreants attacked devotees at Mahadev Khola Dham in Lower Lawsohtun and controversy erupted over allegations of giving a communal colour to the incident, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has stated that the case is not communally or religiously motivated.
Talking to media persons here on Friday, the chief minister said that some groups of individuals had gone to the shops and created ruckus.
He pointed out that it is easy to connect the dots and give it a communal or religious colour.
Asserting that the incident had no links with any organisation, the CM said that the authorities have studied the background of all the individuals involved and it was discerned that they were not related to any particular organisation.
Calling it a standalone occurrence, Conrad said that the right course of action will be taken. He also warned action against news channels which resort to spreading misinformation concerning the incident.
