One held for break-in at Umsohsun

SHILLONG, Aug 3: Police arrested a suspect from Mawblei after a break-in and robbery at the house of 70-year-old Janaki Toi at Umsohsun on July 29.
According to a police statement, a complaint was filed on July 30 that a masked miscreant had entered Toi’s house and snatched her gold ring and stole an ATM card and a mobile phone.
The police raided the suspect’s house on Tuesday, and upon interrogation, the accused confessed about his involvement in the crime and revealed that the gold ring was sold to one of the jewellers in Mairang.
The ring, police said, has been seized and the accused was arrested and forwarded to court.
