Shillong, August 22: In a significant development, an individual implicated in the communal clashes in Haryana’s Nuh faced a police encounter resulting in a leg injury.

As per India Today, the encounter took place in the Tauru region of the district. The accused, identified as Washim, carried a reward of Rs 25,000 for his capture due to his involvement in various cases of robbery and homicide. Washim’s arrest transpired in the Aravallis of Tauru, and he was subsequently taken to Nalhad Medical Hospital for medical attention.

The search of the accused yielded a country-made pistol (referred to as “desi katta”) and five cartridges. This occurrence marks the second police encounter in Nuh within a week. Earlier, during the nights of August 15 and 16, two suspected instigators of the Nuh violence were arrested following a brief encounter, with one of them being wounded in the leg. The incident took place near Sakho village’s hill in the Tauru area of the Nuh district.

The duo, attempting to escape on a motorcycle, were incapacitated when one of them was shot in the leg. Police officials recovered a country-made pistol, a cartridge, and the motorcycle from their possession. These confrontations are situated against the backdrop of the communal clashes that unfolded in Nuh, originating from an attack on a Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) procession, the Braj Mandal Yatra, by mobs on July 31. The turmoil subsequently spread to the neighboring Gurugram, culminating in six casualties.
