SHILLONG, Aug 22: The HYC on Tuesday complained about the delay in declaring results of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) recruitment to the posts of assistant engineer in the C&RD department.
In a representation submitted to the Chairman of the MPSC, the organisation has asked the commission to call candidates who have cleared the written test for the interview round so as to complete the process of recruitment.
The HYC also warned the MPSC Chairman of agitation if the results are not declared.
According to HYC general secretary Roy Kupar Synrem, the MPSC had invited applications for filling up of various posts vide advertisement issued on December 14, 2020.
Synrem said serial No. 7 of the advertisement mentioned that applications were called for filling up of 35 posts of Assistant Engineer in the C&RD department under the Meghalaya Rural Engineering Services (MRES) vide notices issued on March 3, 2023.
Applicants were informed that the written examination was to be held on March 18 at two centres in Shillong and Tura.
He pointed out that more than five months have passed since the conduct of the written examination for the said posts but the results of the written test have not been declared till date. Delay in declaration of results for the written examination by the Commission raises serious doubts about the transparency in the whole process of recruitment. It has affected the applicants both mentally and economically. Prolonged delay will also leads to major problem of over-aging of majority of these applicants in the future,” Synrem added.
