SHILLONG, Aug 26: In a bid to surmount more pressure on NEHU Vice Chancellor Prof PS Shukla who intends to implement NEP in the state from the current academic session, the Meghalaya College Teachers’ Association (MCTA) will hold an open press conference on the implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 at the Shillong Press Club at 4 pm on Monday.
The open press conference will be live-streamed on the YouTube channel ‘U Sangot: U Pyrta’.
Announcing this on Saturday, MCTA general secretary Airpeace W Rani, said that the conference will aim to shed light on the practical implications, challenges, and future prospects of the NEP’s implementation in Meghalaya. “This event is a platform for all stakeholders, from educators and students to parents and policymakers, to come together and contribute to the discourse surrounding our educational future,” Rani said.
He also said that due to space constraints and in view of the significance of the digital age as well as to ensure broader participation, the event will also be live-streamed on YouTube.
According to him, this will help those who might be unable to attend the press meet in person but wish to be part of this pivotal conversation.
He stressed that the input of every stakeholder will be invaluable in shaping the discussion, ensuring a holistic approach to the topic, and driving positive change for the State educational landscape.
