SHILLONG, Sep 12: The Voice of the People Party (VVP) on Tuesday asked the state government to extend the duration of the upcoming autumn session of the Assembly.
The five-day session is schedules to begin on Friday.
In a letter addressed to Assembly Speaker Thomas A Sangma on Tuesday, VPP Parliamentary Party secretary, Heavingstone Kharpran said the party had a long and threadbare decision on the issues concerning the state and wishes to take up these issues through motions, resolutions and questions.
“We would like to express our displeasure on the decision of the Business Advisory Committee to hold the session for five days only, which is too short. Therefore we have decided to request your good office to extend the session for a few more days,” Kharpran said.
