Police recover abandoned bag with heroin worth Rs 2 cr

SHILLONG, Sep 21: An abandoned bag, found in a commercial vehicle, turned out to be worth Rs 2 crore. The value is of drugs found inside the bag.
On Wednesday evening, the driver of the vehicle alerted the police about a suspicious bag left by two passengers in his vehicle.
The bag was taken to Madanrting Police Station, where they witnessed that it contained 21 soap boxes of heroin weighing 253.53 grams along with some clothes. The drugs seized are worth over Rs 2 crore, according to the police.
A case has been registered in this regard, and the police have begun an operation to nab the duo who abandoned the drugs in the vehicle.
