Taxi drivers with ‘pink eye’ told not to operate

JOWAI, Sep 26: All local and tourist taxi drivers in West Jaintia Hills have been instructed to stop operating in the district in case they have contracted or suffered from Conjunctivitis or ‘pink eye’.
In an order, the Deputy Commissioner said that it has come to the notice of the district administration that the some local and tourist taxi drivers have continued to operate their taxis in spite of suffering from the disease.
In a bid to curb the spread of the infection to passengers, the DC has issued the order prompting strict action towards local and tourist taxi drivers who do not comply with the directive.
