Late Ardhendhu Chaudhuri remembered

SHILLONG: The family members, well wishers and close friends paid floral tribute to Late Ardhendhu Chaudhuri on his ninth death anniversary on Sunday.

On the occasion, a small gathering was held at the Rilbong Hindu Dharma Sabha, where the contributions Late Chaudhuri made towards the society was remembered. The statue of Late Chaudhuri was also garlanded on the occasion.

While highlighting the former Mawprem legislator’s contribution as a youth leader the speakers also remembered Late Chaudhuri for his role in the launch of the first mortuary van and ambulance service in the private sector in the State. “The initiative was undertaken under his able guidance,” the speakers observed.

Noting that Late Chaudhuri was instrumental in the formation of the Rilbong Sports, Social and Cultural Club, the speakers stressed on the need to strengthen the Club so that the poor and the needy can be benefitted from the institution.

Among those who spoke on the occasion was former Rajya Sabha MP Dr BB Dutta, Ex-DPI of Meghalaya, Dr SK Chattopadhya and State Planning Board Deputy Chairman, Dr Manash Das Gupta.
