Andhra Pradesh shop owner shocked by Rs 1 crore electricity bill

Shillong, October 3: A small jewelry shop owner in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district, G. Ashok, was taken aback when he received an electricity bill exceeding Rs one crore.

As per IANS, the bill, covering the period from September 2 to October 2, amounted to Rs 1,01,56,116.

G. Ashok, who runs Durga Jewelers on Palakonda Road in Kotturu town, expressed his shock at the unusually high bill sent by the electricity department.

He normally receives monthly bills ranging from Rs 7,000 to Rs 8,000. Concerned about the exorbitant amount, Ashok contacted electricity department officials, who assured him they would investigate the issue and issue a corrected bill.
