Jowai,Oct 13: In an exciting showdown, Mukhla FC emerged victorious in the (Late) Kesilroy Pala Invitation Football Tournament 2023, organized by the West Jaintia District Sports Association (WJDSA).
The final match, held at the illustrious Kiang Nangbah Stadium, witnessed a gripping encounter as Mukhla FC secured a 2-0 win over Salaroh FC.
The spotlight of the match shone on Primrose Lamat, who etched his name in the annals of the tournament’s history. Lamat showcased his scoring prowess, finding the back of the net in the 45th and 95th minutes, single-handedly sealing the victory for Mukhla FC.
The victors were rewarded handsomely, with a cash prize of 5 lakh rupees, while the runner-up, Salaroh FC, received 2 lakh rupees along with the coveted tournament trophy.
The individual honors were no less significant, as Aibormiki Suchiang of Mukhla FC was named the Best Goalkeeper, and the prestigious Man of the Match title was bestowed upon the prolific Primrose Lamat, who contributed with two crucial goals.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the Chief Guest Dy. CM S. Dhar, Ngailang Dhar, a former MLA, Dasakhiat Lamare, Ex-MLA, and the respected family members of the late Kesilroy Pala, in whose honor the tournament was named.
The event also saw the presence of Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla, the Superintendent of WJHD, Elaka Jowai Dolloi P. Kynjing, as well as members of WJDSA and other prominent personalities.
