KAS urges CM to make Khasi official language of Meghalaya

Shillong, Oct 16: The Khasi Authors Society (KAS) today met Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and demanded that the Khasi language should be made the official language along with English. As of now, Garo and Khasi languages are the associate official language of the state.

According to KAS President Dr Nonglait, Meghalaya can have two three official languages. As far as inclusion of Khasi language in the Eighth Schedule is concerned, the Chief Minister have decided to write a letter to Union Home Minister next week
