SHILLONG, Oct 16: As part of the 91st anniversary celebrations of Indian Air Force (IAF), Headquarters Eastern Air Command will organise an air show by IAF aircrafts including the Sarang Helicopter Display Team over Umiam Lake as part of its public outreach initiative.
The air display will comprise a flypast by ALH and Chinook helicopters, Dornier transport aircraft, SU-30 and Rafale fighter jets.
The aircraft will carry out formation flying and other extraordinary aerial manoeuvres demonstrating exceptional flying skills and professionalism. The grand finale would be the helicopter formation flying display by the Sarang Helicopter Display Team. Sarang Display Team is acknowledged as one of the best helicopter display teams in the world.
The air show is planned on October 20 and the full dress rehearsal will be conducted from 9.15 am on Tuesday.
