NIFT releases first monthly magazine

SHILLONG: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Shillong released the first issue of its college magazine – “Yatra” at a function held in the college premises on Monday.

Addressing the gathering after the launch, Shillong Press Club David Laitphlang lauded the efforts of the students for coming up with the magazine which he believed will set a trend for other institutes as well.

Stating that the NIFT in Shillong is evolving, the SPC president praised the institute for documenting the traditional clay pottery in Larnai, Jaintia hills. “The institute has set a good example by doing so,” Laitphlang said.

Earlier, Director of the institute, W Booth said that the magazine will serve as a mirror reflecting the various achievements, aspirations, and new initiatives of the institute, its students and faculty.

Booth informed that the institute has decided to extend the duration its one month diploma course to one year.

Later, certificates were also distributed to the successful students of the CPFD&BM.
