SHILLONG, Nov 7: Bollywood actor, Rajkumar Rao, renowned for his stellar performances in movies like “Omerta” and “Shahid,” expressed his optimism for a potential upswing in Bollywood film productions within the state; a move he believes would unveil this hidden treasure to the world.
Rao, a known face in the city is married to actress Patralakeha Paul, a Shillong native and was here to inaugurate The Cherry Beans Café, in GS Road, on Tuesday, an initiative led by Agnish Paul, his brother-in-law.
Addressing media persons during the inaugural ceremony of the café, Rao said he considers Shillong his second home adding that he keeps searching for reasons to come back to the city.
“What can be better then working here, then coming back home to your family, even though there is nothing in the near future for me in terms of film shooting here, I hope there is something soon,” he added.
Patralekha, too, shared her thoughts on the government’s promotion of movie shootings in the region, hoping for a substantial increase in such endeavors.
She said, “The scripts have to be written in a certain way and I just feel there should be more writers from Meghalaya, from the North East in general because they understand the pulse and the stories for this region, and that’s when the integration will start happening.”
Moreover, Patralekha expressed her hope that the café could serve as a platform to promote local musical talents.
