Meghalaya take on Mizoram at home

Shillong, Nov 16: Cricket enthusiasts in Shillong are eagerly anticipating the kickoff of the Cooch Behar Trophy, a prestigious youth first-class tournament for U-19 men, as Meghalaya prepares to square off against Mizoram in their inaugural match.
The multi-day competition is scheduled to commence at 8:30 am today at the Meghalaya Cricket Association Ground in Polo.
In a significant moment for the state, this marks the first time a BCCI domestic competition is being hosted in the capital during the 2023-24 season. Spectators are invited to witness the cricketing action, and entry to the grounds is complimentary.
Meghalaya’s cricket team, captained with high hopes, is set to play a total of five matches in the upcoming season, all against fellow North East state teams.
Three of these highly anticipated fixtures will take place on home turf, featuring clashes against Mizoram, Nagaland (starting from 24 November), and Manipur (starting from 15 December). The remaining two engagements, against Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh, will be contested as away games.
Cricket enthusiasts and supporters are expected to flock to the Meghalaya Cricket Association Ground in significant numbers to cheer for the home team as they embark on this exciting journey in the Cooch Behar Trophy and also being the fact that this is the first BCCI tournanet of the season being held at home turf.
As the anticipation builds for Meghalaya’s cricket enthusiasts, the inaugural match against Mizoram promises to be a thrilling spectacle, setting the stage for an action-packed season in the Cooch Behar Trophy.
With the Meghalaya Cricket Association Ground in Polo hosting the event, fans have the opportunity to witness top-tier U-19 cricket in their state capital.
