Celebration
The Shillong Academy School will celebrate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on the School premises on Wednesday.
Puja greetings
The Narendra Modi Fan Club has extended greetings to the people of the State particularly the Hindu community for the ensuing Durga Puja and Dussehra festival. The club has also appealed to the pro-ILP protestors to restrain from calling any agitational programme during the festivals.
Office bearers
The Dorbar Shnong of Lumdiengjri has elected new office bearers for 2013-16 with R Dkhar as Rangbah Shnong, B Shangpliang as Assistant Rangbah Shnong, M Synrem as Secretary, M Dkhar as Assistant Secretary and L Suchiang as Treasurer, besides 10 other executive members.
Installation
The Executive Officer, State Disaster Management Authority has informed that a Fax has been installed in the State Emergency Operation Centre, Shillong, and all information relating to any disaster in the district in the district may be sent to the fax number (0364-2502098) which will be in operation 24×7.
Workshop
The State Council of Science, Technology and Environment, Meghalaya will organise a State-level workshop on ISON Comet, where selected Science communicators and Science teachers from across the State will participate on October 9 and 10 from 10 am onwards. The ISON Comet will be visible over the early morning sky with the naked eye in November-December.
Festival of Peace
The Presbyterian Church Pohkseh, Shillong, in collaboration with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association will organise a Festival of Peace at Polo Ground on October 25-26 at 6 pm and on October 27 at 10 am, 1.30 pm and 6 pm.
