BSF confiscates items worth Rs 8 lakh meant for smuggling

SHILLONG, Nov 30: BSF troops, in a significant operation on Wednesday, successfully foiled illicit smuggling attempts along the Indo-Bangla border confiscating contraband items worth over Rs 8 lakh which were meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh.
Responding to specific intelligence inputs, the vigilant troops of BSF Meghalaya launched a series of operations, resulting in the interception of cattle, huge quantity of sugar, clothing items, foreign currency, and various other illicit goods from the bordering districts of Jaintia and Khasi Hills.
The confiscated items were promptly handed over to the respective Customs office for further actions.
