HC seeks status report on Shillong-Dawki road project

SHILLONG, Dec 4: The High Court of Meghalaya has asked the state government to submit an affidavit providing a more comprehensive picture of the current state of work in each of the five packages of the Shillong-Dawki road project.
The Additional Advocate General on Monday filed a brief status report on the five packages of the Shillong-Dawki road as of December 1, 2023.
The court stated that a review of the same, however, does not reveal the scope or advancement of the work that has been done since the date of this court’s most recent order, dated 19.10.2023.
The NHIDCL, represented by N Mozika and A Pradhan, failed to provide any report in accordance with the 19.10.2023 order. But he prayed that he might be permitted to present an affidavit with more specific information.
Given these circumstances and the fact that the state respondents’ status was also vague, the court further stated: “Let the respondents, particularly the state, file an affidavit providing a more detailed picture as to the status of the work in all five packages.”
