SHILLONG, Jan 4: During the festive season, the city experienced a significant surge in tourists, inundating key locations like Khyndailad, and Laitumkhrah.
Hotels had a gala time as many of them in and around the city boasted of about 100 percent occupancy till January 31, said president of Federation of Shillong Hotels (FOSH), Parambir Singh Sehdave.
Restaurants witnessed long queues as patrons eagerly awaited their turns. Even on a typically quiet Sunday, the city was bustling with people, prompting many establishments to extend their operating hours to accommodate the high demand.
