Jowai, Jan 8: The West Jaintia District Sports Association (WJDSA) started the Republic Day Cup, Under-13 Football Tournament 2024 at Kiang Nangbah Stadium, Dongmihsngi Jowai on Monday. The tourney saw competitive rival teams participate with New Year zest and fair play spirit
The first match saw FAM FC defeat Luti Tuber Ialong FC 3-0. In the following game, the Catholic Youth Mihmyntdu FC trounced Iawmusiang Nartiang FC by the same margin.
Later, Panaliar FC thrashed Mynthong FC 5-0. Also, Sabahmuswang FC edged Dulong FC 2-1 in a closely contested game. Later in the day, Iongpiah FC beat Sailung Ialong FC 2-0, while PSA FC routed Demthring FC 4-0.
On January 9, there will be another round of six matches and the first game kicks-off at 9 am.
