Shillong, January 10: Suchana Seth, the CEO of an artificial intelligence startup, who is accused of killing her four-year-old son in a service apartment in Goa, used a towel or a pillow to strangle the boy, according to a doctor, India Today has reported.

Seth was apprehended from Chitradurga in Karnataka on Monday night and subsequently transported to Goa on Tuesday.

The tragic incident occurred between January 6 and 8, during which the child was killed and placed in a bag before being taken to neighboring Karnataka in a taxi. The minor’s burial is scheduled to take place today in Bengaluru.

Dr. Kumar Naik, the administrative officer at Hiriyur Taluk Hospital, provided insights based on the postmortem report, stating that the child was smothered to death by his mother. Dr. Naik explained to India Today, “He (the child) was strangled to death or what we call smothering. Either a cloth or a pillow was used. The child died due to strangulation. It doesn’t look like the child was strangulated using hands. It looks like a pillow or some other material was used.”

Notably, there were no signs of rigor mortis in the child, which typically resolves after 36 hours in India. Dr. Naik highlighted that in this case, more than 36 hours had passed since the child’s death, and there were no indications of blood loss or struggle marks on the body.
