City expresses solidarity with candle light vigil

SHILLONG: Hundreds of people of all caste, creed and religion thronged Khyndailad to express their solidarity with Vikash Nandwal the trader who succumbed to his injuries after a long battle with life.

People of all ages on Saturday lighted candles in memory of Vikash who passed away in New Delhi on Saturday, sixteen days after miscreants set him ablaze inside his shop at Motphran in broad day light.

Hundreds of candles were seen lighted up at the Rotary at Khyndailad and even on the streets.Family members, friends and well wishers and civil society members were also present during the vigil.

Home Minister Roshan Warjri and Urban Affairs Minister also lighted candles in honour of the departed soul.

Security personnel were also seen patrolling at the Khyndailad junction.
