SHILLONG: The controversial Chancellor of CM J University, CM Jha has been directed to appear in person on November 15 before the Supreme Court in connection with his anticipatory bail, which was granted by the apex court recently.

The State government subsequently challenged the Supreme Court order.

Informing this, Ranjan Mukherjee, a Government pleader, said over phone from Delhi that the matter related to the objection to the interim bail granted to Jha was heard by the Supreme Court on Monday.

However, the Court has asked Jha to appear in person during the next hearing scheduled for November 15, Mukherjee said.

After the Government lawyer submitted additional documents related to the interrogation of Jha by the CID before the Court on Monday, the lawyer of Jha sought more time to reply.

However, the Court asked Jha to be present during the next hearing.
