APSC claims ‘glitch-free’ conduct of exam in 32 districts

Guwahati, Mar 18: The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) on Monday conducted the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2023 in 116 venues across 32 districts of the state in a “glitch-free” manner.

“The smooth and glitch-free manner in which the examinations were conducted would not have been possible but for the whole hearted and sustained assistance and support of the district and police administration of the districts, health department, postal department, municipal corporations, APDCL, SEBA, principals and teachers of all educational institutions,” a statement issued by the secretary, APSC, said.

Notably, the examination was held against 235 posts for ACS, APS and other allied services where 67,251 candidates applied. Out of 235 posts, 45-posts are for ACS and 35 posts for APSC, among others.

The examination was held in accordance with the calendar schedule, and for the first time, OMR sheets were introduced with carbon copies for candidates.

The provisional answer key of the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2023 was uploaded immediately after the examination on the same day.

It may be noted that the main examination will be conducted in July, 2024. Question papers will be set in Assamese along with English.

APSC chairman Bharat Bhushan Dev Choudhury, on behalf of the the Commission, commended all district commissioners, district nodal officers, district superintendents of police, health department, postal department, municipal corporations, APDCL, SEBA, principals and teachers of all educational institutions who worked with sincerity and alacrity, and enabled the Commission to conduct the examination with utmost efficiency.
