Vehicles to be regulated on Umiam bridge during March 31 to April 8

Shillong, March 21: Vehicular traffic will be either completely blocked or partially allowed during March 31 to April 8 next on Umiam bridge on the busy Guwahati-Shillong Road to undertake repair works bridge.

According to an official communique, vehicular traffic will be completely blocked for at least six hours from 8 am to 2 pm on March 31 except ambulance services.

After the work is completed on March 31, half of the road will be opened i.e. downstream of the bridge, but only for vehicles up to 4 tons weight till 7 am of April 8.

Vehicles up to weight of 15 tons will be allowed on the bridge from 7 am of April 8 and onwards.
