TURA, March 26: The A.chik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM), Bajengdoba regional unit in North Garo Hills, has sought the appointment of more doctors at the Primary Healthcare Centre in the area.
In this regard, the AHAM also submitted letters to the North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner as well as to the District Medical Health Officer.
According to the AHAM, while two doctors were earlier appointed at the Bajengdoba PHC, only one is currently catering to the medical needs of around 36,000 people, who fall under the jurisdiction of the PHC.
Informing that the lack of doctors was posing difficulties to the people of the area, the AHAM has sought immediate intervention of the authorities.
